DENTAL IMPLANTS AT FITZ PARK DENTAL PRACTICE
People can lose teeth for a great variety of reasons – be it a physical accident, dental decay, gum disease or natural causes. Losing teeth can be traumatic and upsetting, and you may wish to consider dental implants.
The dental implants process will begin by you coming in to Fitz Park Dental Practice for a CT scan or X-ray – this will determine the size and structure of your jawbone, allowing us to select the implant which most suits your needs. The dental implants being inserted require minor surgery which usually involves local anaesthesia to numb the gum and prevent discomfort.
Dental implants involve titanium implants being placed into the jaw bone, supporting either a false tooth/bridge or denture. The titanium implants integrate with the jaw bone, providing just as much strength and stability as normal teeth.
Fitz Park Dental Practice can replace individual teeth with a single dental implant, or multiple teeth using dental bridges or dentures.
You may not be suitable for dental implants if you have a history of bad oral hygiene or gum disease, as these are high risk factors to implants failing.
Once implants are fitted, a strict oral hygiene routine must be kept to. Smokers are requested to either quit completely or not smoke for two weeks following surgery.
If you suffer discomfort after the surgery, painkillers such as paracetamol can be taken. You may also be prescribed antibiotics to reduce the risk of infection.
At Fitz Park Dental Practice, you can have confidence that our team are experienced and skilled, having placed dental implants in patients for almost ten years. Should your requirements be particularly complex and you need an added procedure such as bone or gum grafting, we are able to proceed with this work in-house.
All-on-4
With only four dental implants, the All-on-4® treatment concept can restore a complete jaw of missing teeth.
This technique offers you several advantages:
Shorter treatment time, lower costs
The low number of implants needed for the All-on-4® treatment concept considerably reduces treatment time and often makes this solution more cost-effective than comparable treatment alternatives.
Fixed teeth from day one
Depending on your individual dental situation, your dentist can connect your implants to a temporary bridge on the day of surgery. This means you can leave the dental office with a full set of teeth and return to leading a normal life. After a certain healing time, your dentist will exchange your temporary bridge with the final bridge created by a dental laboratory.

How many people can say that they like going to the dentist? I know this isn’t the norm but I actually look forward to my appointments. Our dentist has inspired me to want to take more care of my teeth and helped to banish all the age old fears associated with the reluctance to see the dentist and stepping into the dentist’s chair.
I take more care of my teeth than ever before as my dentist has helped me to understand how good oral hygiene can affect other areas of your health. Regular visits to our dentist ensure that we are doing the right things and looking after our teeth correctly which is good insurance for our overall health for the future.
Couldn't recommend Fitz Park Dental Practice highly enough.
I actually enjoy going to the dentist now. They make me feel at ease from the moment I arrive from the friendly response at reception to the highly professional relaxed manner of the dentists which all works towards helping me feel at ease and assured I am in good hands.
